Specific Youth

Strength and Conditioning for Youths and Teenagers

We build the youths of Glasgow (and surrounding Shires) like they used to …………….. ……..if you get what we mean?

Whether it’s to;

  • reduce the wee man’s injury risk

  • add that wee missing edge to your daughter’s performance

  • a confidence booster

  • or even just get them off the games consoles or streets.

By joining Specific Youth, your wee one will be given an individual programme to help them;

  • become quicker off the mark, faster & sharper

  • hit harder

  • tackle stronger

  • jump higher and win more.

Our athletes have fed back the difference they’ve felt in their sport;

  • Jake’s much faster off the mark at football.

  • Youth footballer Northy’s stronger in the tackle and has more bite to his game now.

  • Amateur boxer Zain is hitting harder and moving around the ring faster.

  • Chelsea smoked the rest of PE class at sprints & plank challenge. Plus she performs better at dancing.

  • Lewis can hold his own playing up with the first team against older more physically developed opponents.

  • Carly’s only wee but her weights are big (and not just big for a wee lassie, embarrass grown men big).

All strength and conditioning programmes are designed and delivered by our team of Sports Science qualified coaches.

We also have Sean, our in-house Physio who helps look after any issues or injuries that our members might experience.

MYTH BUSTER.

Youth athletes can’t be too young to get injured, so they’re not too young for injury reduction and sensible strength training.

Strength and conditioning for kids & teenagers should be a part of their training to reduce the risk of injury.

Without strong (not necessarily big) muscles, they run the risk of ligament injuries, such as ACL ruptures.

No one wants their precious wee one getting injured.

We know it’s hectic running about after the weans, so you can change what days suit you best from week to week.

We run three sessions daily Monday to Friday:

  • Session One 16:15 - 17:00

  • Session Two 17:00 - 17:45

  • Session Three 17:45 - 18:30

Numbers on sessions are limited to six young people to ensure safety & quality in the sessions, so places must be booked in advance.

Age: 11 years old - up to 17 years old.
